Janice Trimpe's sculptures exude life much like Janice herself. Janice, of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, says of her work, "The gift of life is an inherent gift from our Creator, and, as an artist, I feel obligated to share my talent to enrich the lives of others."

In the last twenty-eight years, Trimpe has shared this gift with others through her art. She studied sculpture at Detroit's prestigious Center for Creative Studies (CCS), a college renowned for teaching the figure. After twelve weeks of schooling, the CCS faculty recognized her talents and awarded her a full-time studio in which to work and create.

As an experienced commissioned artist, she has to her credits over 200 portrait busts of many prominent people, as well as their children, and various outdoor monuments and memorials, including a family of five.

Janice has the capacity to design and execute a sculpture appropriate for the setting considering such factors as location, the essence of the community, and the available funds. Janice commonly blends her ideas with those of the committees involved to accurately portray the spirit of the community.

All clay work is done personally by Janice at her studio. She has the ability to take a small model of the monument and build the armature and the ensuing full-size clay sculpture strictly by eye. No shortcuts are taken as Janice oversees the work from start to finish, including the clay work, molds, waxes, and bronze work. This process from start to finish is approximately one year.
